classes begin.
Sessions are held in person and offered throughout the year to registered students only. Once you're accepted and registered for courses, you'll receive a personalized email with all the details you need to get started.

During New Student Orientation, you’ll get answers to five key questions to help you start strong:

- What does YTC expect from me?
- How do I navigate life at YTC—on campus and online?
- When do I need to make important decisions?
- Am I in the right program for my goals and career plans?
Online Orientation
Can’t attend in person? No problem! You can complete NSO online by enrolling in the self-guided course on D2L. To register, follow the steps below:
- Log into D2L
- Click the “Self Registration” button at the top
- Select “25–26 New Student Orientation” to get started
Frequently Asked Questions
Orientation is strongly recommended—even though it’s not required. NSO gives you a head start and helps you navigate your first semester with confidence. It’s also a great time to ask questions and get help with any challenges you’re facing.
Once you register for classes, you'll receive an email invitation with registration details. NSO is available only to registered students. While in-person sessions are encouraged, an online version is available if you're unable to attend on campus.

Just bring yourself! If you still need to complete residency or financial aid steps, check your personal email for a list of documents you might need to bring with you.
Also, wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes—you’ll be touring campus!
Yes! You may bring one guest with you that is at least 18 years old or older. We offer a dedicated session just for family members and supporters, so they can learn how to best assist you on your college journey.
